    Five Views of a Volcano

    The island of Nisyros is a volcano. It creation began about 150,000 years ago, with the last magmatic activity in the region noted about 20,000 years ago. The volcano is active and has ten craters, each one with its own name.

    The Four Views depict the craters Alexandros, Polyvotis and Little Polyvotis. The Fifth View depicts crater the biggest and most famous of all Stefanos.
